Capturing Mountain Weddings in the Asheville area is a dream! As the owner of Autumn Olive Photography, we have had the chance to capture so many wedding locations over our 16 years in the industry. However, let me tell you about a local gold mine (total play on words..haha), Gold River Camp.

As a wedding photographer, check out Gold River Campground would include renting out the campground for you and 50 other wedding guests. Can you imagine, hanging out in cabins with your favorite people and making the wedding a destination vacation for all your loved ones.

Gold River Camp is located in a little mountain town in Marion, NC which is only about 30 minutes East of Asheville. It is also the prime location for other amazing outdoor locations.

You can spend the day in Asheville checking out the local breweries such as High-Wire and then grab some food at Tupelo Honey. Don’t forget Chocolate at French Broad Chocolate Lounge (one of my favorites).

If you are looking for some local hiking, Gold River Campground is very close to Tom’s Creek Falls and Cawtaba Falls. Don’t forget to go to GoGo’s and get some of her Famous Cinnamon Rolls while grabbing lunch at Hileman’s. Although the town was hit by Hurricane Helene, it is back open and needs all the support we can give them!

Going up the mountain is also a great adventure. Autumn Olive Photography can hike to any destination with you and a group of loved ones, or do a special “Day After” session at a waterfall or mountain-top! Crabtree Falls is a magical destination to photograph (at least 3 miles of hiking involved) or Roan Mountain (longer drive, but mountains for miles).
